POSITION SUMMARY

Our banquet team plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality food and beverage service for all events.


Position Overview

We are seeking an energetic, service-oriented Banquet Server to support event operations and deliver outstanding food and beverage service to guests. The Banquet Server is responsible for event setup, table service, clearing dishes, supporting the banquet team, catering deliveries, and ensuring guest satisfaction throughout the event.

The ideal candidate enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, has strong communication skills, and is dedicated to providing excellent customer service.


Key Responsibilities

Event Deliveries

  • Deliver catering orders to event locations safely and on time.
  • Ensure food items and supplies are properly secured during transport.
  • Confirm order accuracy before leaving the kitchen and upon delivery.

Event Setup & Preparation

  • Set up banquet rooms according to event specifications, including tables, chairs, linens, place settings, and décor.
  • Prepare beverage stations, buffets, and serving areas.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of event spaces before guests arrive.

Food & Beverage Service

  • Greet guests and provide courteous, attentive service during events.
  • Serve food courses, beverages, and refills promptly and professionally.
  • Assist with buffet service, carving stations, plated meals, and tray passing.
  • Follow proper serving etiquette and food-handling guidelines.

Guest Interaction & Support

  • Respond to guest requests, questions, and concerns quickly and politely.
  • Communicate special dietary needs or requests to kitchen staff.
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude throughout the event.

Event Clean-Up & Breakdown

  • Clear tables, remove dishes, and reset service areas during and after events.
  • Clean and store equipment, linens, and supplies properly.
  • Assist the team in restoring event rooms to standard layout after events.

Teamwork & Communication

  • Work closely with banquet captains, managers, and other servers to ensure smooth event flow.
  • Follow instructions regarding event timelines, service style, and guest expectations.
  • Assist coworkers as needed to maintain efficiency and service quality.

Compliance & Safety

  • Follow all company policies, health regulations, and sanitation standards.
  • Adhere to alcohol service laws and responsible beverage service guidelines.
  • Report any hazards, spills, or safety concerns immediately.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Professional appearance and positive attitude.
  • Ability to carry trays, lift 25–40 lbs., and stand or walk for extended periods.
  • Experience in banquets, catering, or food and beverage service preferred but not required.
  • Ability to follow directions and work well as part of a team.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Valid North Carolina Driver’s License required.
  • On-the-job training provided for entry-level candidates.
  • Food handler or alcohol service certification may be required or preferred.

Work Environment

  • Fast-paced hospitality and event environment with frequent lifting, carrying, bending, and standing.
  • Shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays depending on event schedules.
